Lost count of the number of fish that graced the net! The sun even put in an appearance.

12 or so fish split between a method rod in the margins with corn and up on the surface with mixers.

The biggest was a 11lb common who I swear I've had out before, really recognise the split drop tail.... It fell to the faithful Enterprise Tackle mini mixer off the surface and went mad when it was hooked!

All but one fish fell to surface baits, namely chum mixers as freebees and a enterprise tackle mini mixer on the hook.

The first 5 five where all commons around 9 to 11lb and in tip top condition. The fish continued to feed even once it got dark with the last 3 fish coming in complete darkness (lost a couple too, nearly managed to make it to 20!).

Rio also managed to catch one for the camera ;)

So another excellent session up at Bitterwell - if you've not yet been, grab a bag of mixers and get up there!

Fish on the surface, the feeder rod doing the business on sweetcorn and amazing colours over the water at sunset.

Love this place, it's sooo good to be out in the evening catching fish!

BUT I did manage to catch my biggest carp so far from the venue on the 2nd to last cast ;) A nice chunky common with a huge mouth and shoulders. Must've been 12/13lb and put up a cracking fight on light gear. Would've loved to get a snap but the feeder rod went off while I was unhooking him ;)
